Survey Says.

August 22nd, 2008

Well, I’m sad to say this will be my last day of guest blogging here at Alison Conklin (dot com). I’ve enjoyed posting for you this week, but luckily, you’ll have Al back early next week! Yay!

This morning I opened up my e-mail only to see a survey from not one, but two of my friends (the same one). Some people scoff at surveys; but I personally love them. You could know someone years and years and years and never know things about them until you read little questions about their life & you learn some pretty cool junk you never knew!

So, now I’ll turn the tables on Al (you hear me Alhomework assignment)! I’m going to post this lovely little survey for her to reply to, via blog, upon her return (and I’ll throw in some CA questions too so she can fill in some extra tid-bits about her trip)!

So Good, In Such A Bad Way.

August 21st, 2008

Bonjour!

Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday! It was one of those tiring, long days and I couldn’t even muster up enough energy to blog or guest blog for that matter. But, I’m BACK today; are you excited… pumped up to the max? Oh, I’m sure you are ;)

I do have a really juicy post for all you TV lovers today.  I know Al and I share a love for really good (but oh sooo bad) reality TV. And, come fall, there are going to be a lot of new kids on the block. New shows, new drama. I love it, I love it.

Since I do have an affinity for all things clothing related.. I am really excited about these two shows in particular:

1. The Rachel Zoe Project (9/8)

2. Stylista (10/22)

I have a feeling there will be lots of yelling, screaming, fighting & name-calling and mostly it will be full episodes of people getting bossed around (which makes for FUN TV)!

Click on the links above to see previews for both shows.

But the fall season premiers don’t stop there; below are two other great shows kicking off in the next month. Set your Tivo!

3. The Office (9/25)

4. Gossip Girl (9/1)

I’ll post my last guest blog tomorrow (for Al). I had come up with a few more ideas of things to talk about while she was away; but it was just finding the time to execute the posts! The weeks, days.. and time in general.. just fly by!

Have a lovely day- more tomorrow!

xo- Jen

Fabulous Fashion Tuesday.

August 19th, 2008

Hi everyone!

It’s your guest blogger o’ the week, back again

Today I decided to put together a fun outfit post for your viewing pleasure! For any of you who may know me; you certainly know I am a complete clothing-a-holic (and love dishing and talking about clothing any chance I get). But, in order to relate this directly to Al’s blog; I’ve decided to post some photographer work-friendly outfits.

I’m sure you’ve heard, but beginning in the next few months Al will be jet setting to several destination weddings & shooting all over the world! So, below I’m going to post some great outfit ideas for those who travel for work, or even would hope to travel to destinations that I’ll list below and need a few “business creative” outfit ideas!

Hope you enjoy!

[Sidenote]

Did everyone see “The Hills” last night? I’m officially perturbed with Audrina. I’m soooo not a fan. Team “Lo”.. anyone .. anyone.. yes?

Music Monday.

August 18th, 2008

As many of you may know, your friend and mine, Alison (Al, as I call her).. is on VACATION! I hope to be entertaining you a bit while she’s gone with little smidgens of things I enjoy or think you’ll enjoy. I don’t have near as much talent as my lovely friend, but I’ll try to keep those who drop in satisfied with some daily posts while Al is out of town! So, check back this week if you can!

Oh, and how rude of me; I hadn’t even introduced myself! Hello everyone, my name is Jen! I’ve been friends with Al since… well.. forever. She’s a dear friend of mine.. and I just love her to pieces. Oh and… so.. nice to meet you.

So, since today is Monday (ugh Monday) .. I thought everyone could use a music pick me up. Music is the best medicine right? It calms your nerves, gets your feet tapping and can sometimes even give you tingles. I have a wide range of music taste; but the “genre” I typically fit in is the indie/folk category. If you’re also an indie lover, today is your lucky day. I’m going to share my top 10 all time indie favorites!

If you get the chance, check the tracks out on Itunes! I hate to admit that I planned on linking all the band names so you could easy follow their work and album list to either myspace or youtube; but shamefully I’m in full “Hills” countdown mode. The new season starts in t-minus 80 minutes (yes, I said 80 minutes and .. yes… I’m really counting down). So, you want to get to it?? Let’s!

Top 10 “most played” songs in my Ituens:

1. Pogo, Digitalism
2. Nothing Changes Round Here, The Thrills
3. No One’s Gonna Love You, Band Of Horses
4. What’s A Girl To Do, Bat For Lashes
5. Electric Feel, MGMT
6. Be Gentle With Me, The Boy Least Likely To
7. Lake Michigan, Rogue Wave
8. Saturdays, Cut Copy
9. To The East, Electrelane
10. Rich Girls, The Virgins

And a BONUS new band find

1. Ghost On A Hill, Tenlons Fort

So, I hope you like some of my favorites! I also hope you are having a great week!

I promise Al will be back in all her fabulousness next week! Until then, you’ll be hearing from me again soon! Enjoy your Hills premier night! If you feel up to it; let me know your feedback on the first episode! Comments are always loved so very very much!

xo!
